PEORIA, Ill. – One person has been arrested for First Degree Murder in a fatal shooting and pedestrian crash last weekend in Peoria.
Peoria Police say 20-year-old Karon Hopkins was released from a local hospital today on Thursday, then transported to be questioned by police. Hopkins is also charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Battery.
Hopkins is the only arrest made so far in connection with the incident that included the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Malik Pickett early Saturday morning.
52-year-old Gary Traylor was killed moments after the shooting after he was struck by a vehicle in the alleged suspect vehicle.
