PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – No one was injured after a vehicle fire in Peoria Heights Wednesday afternoon.
Peoria Heights Fire says a hybrid SUV with flames and smoke coming from the engine compartment was found near the Beck’s on War Memorial Drive, just before 1:45 P.M. The fire was put out within ten minutes.
The driver of the SUV reported experiencing mechanical problems before pulling into a parking lot, with a bystander alerting the driver to the fire.
The driver and two children in the vehicle exited safely before the fire spread.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
