PEORIA, Ill. – You can help paint the town gold in support of children battling cancer.
OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital is bringing back its Paint the Town Gold Initiative in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout the month, the community will band together to support children facing childhood cancer by wearing Paint the Town Gold shirts as a symbol of solidarity and displaying yard signs in neighborhoods, businesses and community spaces across the region.
The Murray Baker Bridge will be lit in gold starting at 7 p.m on Sunday—residents are invited to wear gold, take selfies at the bridge and share on social media—further raising awareness.
