NEW YORK, Aug 4 (Reuters) – A federal jury on Tuesday awarded an Alabama man $88 million in the first case to go to trial out of thousands facing Medtronic by people claiming they were injured by hernia-repair mesh implants made by one of its units, according to the injured man’s attorney.
