SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (25 News) – Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker was briefly hospitalized late Wednesday night after his office said he suffered a “minor complication” from a recent urology procedure.
A governor’s spokesperson said Pritzker was treated by a doctor at a Springfield hospital, and “then went home.”
Pritzker put in a full day of work on Thursday, meeting with legislators, Illinoisians, and staff, the spokesperson said in a statement sent to 25News.
Last Friday, the governor underwent a “routine out-patient urological procedure,” said Matt Hill, Pritzker’s deputy chief of staff for communications.
At the time, Hill said Pritzker would fulfill his duties and pause public events while resting.
“The governor is grateful for well-wishes and looks forward to resuming public events soon,” Hill said.
