PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Fire and Rescue officials say one person was recovering from injuries sustained in a bizarre single-vehicle crash.
They say it happened Monday evening just before 8 p.m. along War Memorial Drive near North Big Hollow Road.
Local crews at the scene found a quad-cab pickup truck — somehow — teetering vertically from its rear bumper, tangled in stabilization lines that ran from an Ameren electrical pole.
Fire crews managed to get one occupent out of the truck and rushed them to the hospital.
The truck was cleared from the scene just before midnight.
Damage was estimated at roughly $40,000.
