CHICAGO, Ill. — Chicago Public School classes were canceled for a fourth day on Monday after the teachers’ union and city officials failed to reach an agreement about in-person learning amid a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Parents of students in Chicago Public Schools filed a lawsuit against the teachers’ union over the weekend.
The C-T-U argues they need more testing and better protection in the classrooms.
The union did offer to return to remote learning as early as Wednesday and eventually return to in-person learning when COVID cases come down, but Chicago city officials rejected the offer.
