PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. (25 News) – A Peoria County grand jury has indicted a 79-year-old Chillicothe man with sexually assaulting a minor 25 years ago.
David Lynne Clark is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a minor who was younger than 13 years old when the alleged sex act was committed between May 1 and Aug. 30 of 2001.
Clark was indicted by the grand jury Tuesday following a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office investigation.
Online court records indicate Clark was released before trial on conditions, and that the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office did not object to his release during a July 27 hearing.
Predatory sexual assault is a Class X felony, carrying a mandatory prison sentence of up to 60 years if he is convicted.
Clark’s arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 17.
