PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Coroner says remains discovered on Tuesday belong to a man that’s been missing since last September.
Coroner Jamie Harwood says the remains have been presumptively identified as 44-year-old Jason Bloom of Peoria. Bloom has been reported missing since September of 2025
Harwood says despite the condition of Bloom’s body, a distinguishable tattoo was visible on his right forearm, and was corroborated by Bloom’s family.
Bloom’s remains were found in a wooded area of Crest Drive and Hill Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Harwood says additional testing that includes toxicology tests, DNA analysis, and anthropological examinations are still to be done.
