PEORIA, Ill. – Investigators believe arson is behind a fire at an abandoned church in Peoria’s Averyville neighborhood.
Peoria Fire says crews were called to Madison and Park just before 7:00 P.M. Friday, finding moderate smoke and fire on the second floor.
The roof was checked for additional fire damage after the flames were put out.
No one was found inside the building.
Peoria Fire’s Arson K-9 was used to help in the investigation.
