EAST PEORIA, Ill. – East Peoria’s Festival of Lights Parade returns on Saturday with 41 floats representing 41 years.
“So, we’ve brought one back that has not been in the parade the past few years. We’ve got a trailer underneath it, and it will be making its return to the parade…so, we’re excited. 6:30 p.m. and temperatures look mild. Saturday we look all clear,” said Festival of Lights Parade Chair Kory Brown.
Spectators should line up early, before the streets close at 6:15 along East Washington and Taylor Streets.
If you can’t make it to the parade on Saturday, that’s ok…there’ll be plenty of time to see the floats.
“The Winter Wonderland drive-thru display, where all these floats go to park…that becomes our home for the next 40 days or so, opens on Black Friday, that’s Friday, November 28th. We’ll be open nightly, opening at 5:00 each night through January 4th,” Brown said.
Folepi’s Winter Wonderland will be located at VFW Park, just off Springfield Road.
