PEORIA, Ill. – Drought conditions continue to persist across central Illinois.
The latest U-S Drought Monitor report released on Thursday shows all of Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Fulton, Marshall, and Stark Counties in severe drought.
Conditions remained the same from the week prior.
Up to an inch of rain is expected to arrive this weekend, but the National Weather Service reports that precipitation levels continue to run well below normal in central Illinois.
A long range outlook shows that drought will persist through this month, but improvements could come by the end of January.
