PEORIA, Ill. – The victim in a fatal pedestrian versus vehicle crash in Peoria on Thursday night likely died instantly.
That’s the finding after an autopsy was conducted Friday on 32-year-old Eric Williams of Bartonville.
The crash occurred at around 9:30 P.M. at Airport Road and Monroe.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Williams suffered multiple and severe blunt force trauma injuries, and adds that he was struck more than once.
The crash remains under investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices.

PEORIA, Ill. – A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday night, hit by several cars on Airport Road at the intersection with Monroe Road.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Deputies found a 32-year-old man in the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Watkins says two vehicles that struck the man stopped at the gas station nearby and called 911. The initial driver told deputies they did not see the man due to it being dark out, and that he was standing in the road.
The accident is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. The man’s identity will be released by the Peoria County coroner pending notification of family.
Watkins says the man lived nearby on Monroe Road.
