GLASFORD, Ill. – The man who died from a medical emergency in a vehicle Saturday night in Peoria County has been identified.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 54-year-old Jeremy Englert of Pekin suffered an “unfortunate and immediate cardiac event.”
The crash occurred just before 8:00 P.M. on Route 24 near Glasford Road, with crews finding a vehicle in a ditch with one person inside that was unresponsive, not breathing, and no pulse.
Harwood says Englert was pronounced dead at the scene just before 10:30 P.M., despite resuscitative efforts.
He says there were no signs of trauma on Englert, and there was no damage to the vehicle.
Harwood says toxicology tests are pending, but there was no evidence of drug or alcohol use.
