LOGAN COUNTY, Ill. – A stretch of I-155 North in Logan County was closed for nearly 21 hours, beginning Wednesday night, due to an ongoing incident.
Illinois State Police say around 10 p.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to a motorist assist call on I-155 northbound near Emden. The motorist, who was alone, refused to leave his vehicle.
As a precaution, I-155 was closed both north and south bound between Hartsburg and Route 136.
The interstate was reopened just before 7 p.m. Thursday, and one person was taken into custody, then to a hospital.
ISP had a crisis negotiation team and a mental health professional on scene throughout the incident.

LOGAN COUNTY Ill. – A stretch of I-155 North in Logan County has been closed since Wednesday night, due to an ongoing situation, according to Illinois State Police.
ISP tells us the road is closed between Route 121 Lincoln through Route 136 – and has been since just before 10:00pm, Wednesday.
According to 25News — State Police said the driver is the only person in a vehicle and is refusing to leave the vehicle.
Officials say its crisis negotiation team and a mental health professional are both on scene.
They haven’t provided any additional information on the situation – other than no shots have been fired.
Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route of travel.
