PEORIA, Ill. – An Illini Bluffs High School coach remains off the sidelines due to an internal investigation.
Boys Basketball Coach Clay Vass has been placed on leave while the district investigates allegations of inappropriate conduct.
According to 25 News, the district brought in a third party to investigate. Citing the ongoing investigation and personnel matters, the district is not disclosing the nature of the allegations.
Here’s the full statement from Superintendent Roger Alvey:
“Dear Families and Community Members,
I am writing to inform you of a recent development within our school district. An employee is currently on leave while we conduct a thorough and impartial review of certain matters. In the interest of impartiality, we have engaged a third party to conduct a comprehensive review of the matters which have been brought to our attention. This independent investigation will allow us to obtain and fully understand the actual facts as a first step in this process. We are committed to upholding the integrity of our district and ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
