PEORIA Ill. – A teenager was arrested over the weekend in Peoria, for possessing a firearm under the legal age.
On Saturday, just after 9:00pm, Peoria Police conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of West Loucks.
Officers learned the vehicle had expired registration and advised both occupants to exit.
While exiting, police observed a handgun on the person of the male – the handgun was loaded with an extended magazine.
The 17-year-old male was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, and Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card.
He was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
The adult female was issued traffic citations and released.
