PEORIA, Ill. – Fourteen employees of Illinois American Water’s Peoria District are back to work after going on strike last month.
The utility says it and the International Union of Operating Engineers #399 ratified a new collective bargaining agreement on Saturday.
Illinois American Water says the new deal is “fair, reasonable, and respectful” of the employees and the work they do.
The 14 employees went on strike on June 11th, seeking higher wages, more feasible shifts, and better benefits.
