PEORIA, Ill. – Chances are, if you’re going to have surgery at Carle Health in this region, you’ll be going to Peoria for it.
Carle Health says in a statement as of this past Friday, all general surgeries will be performed at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
Carle says, though, they have what they call a “comprehensive array” of surgical procedures across Methodist, Proctor, and Pekin Hospitals.
It’s not clear what led to the change, except for Carle’s statement indicating they’re exploring opportunities to provide high levels of care.
“Carle Health provides a comprehensive array of surgical services across three hospitals in the Greater Peoria community. We continue to explore opportunities to ensure the highest quality and continuity of care based on specialist availability and the best use of resources.
