PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria teenager is being held in jail on $1.5 million bond for allegedly shooting and killing another teenager a week and a half ago.
Court records indicate Erick Jackson, 18, made his first appearance in court Wednesday afternoon, since his arrest Monday. He’s being charged with First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery.
Jackson allegedly shot at Merian Smith, 15, not far from Quest Charter Middle School on November 7th. Smith died two days later.
25 News reports at the hearing, it was learned two guns were taken into evidence, leaving it possible there may be a second shooter.
Jackson is tentatively scheduled to be back in court December 15th.
