PEORIA, Ill. — A federal judge has sentenced a Peoria man to 15 years in prison for receiving child pornography while on supervised release for a similar crime.
When David Robertson II, 39, is released from prison for his latest offense, he’ll spend the rest of his life on supervised release.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office on Thursday said Robertson was on supervised release after serving 10 years in prison for a 2010 federal case in which he had in his possession “obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children.”
Officials said that last September, probation officers made a routine, unannounced home visit. At that time, Robertson admitted to having child pornography in his possession. He turned over a cell phone and tablet to authorities.
In all, investigators said Robertson had 52 videos and 1,680 images of child pornography in his possession.
U.S. District Judge James Shadid sentenced Robertson on September 9.
Robertson was indicted in December 2021. He pleaded guilty in March of this year. He’s been jailed since his arrest.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Secret Service investigated the case.
