BURLINGTON, Ia. – It’s not impacting operations in the Peoria area, but two plants operated by farm equipment manufacturer Case New Holland Industrial are now on strike.
The United Auto Workers says 1,000 workers at plants in Burlington, Iowa, and Racine, Wisconsin went on strike as of noon Monday, after the company, “failed to present an agreement that met member demands and needs,” according to a news release.
The union says it will continue to negotiate until their goals are achieved, which include “the ability to earn a decent living.”
CNH says it’s disappointed no agreement was reached and a strike was called.
The company has a plant in Goodfield, Illinois, which isn’t on strike.
