EAST PEORIA, Ill. — Authorities are investigating after a possible human skull was found partially buried in East Peoria on Sunday afternoon.
Tazewell County deputies responded to the 1300 block of Cole Street at approximately 4:10 p.m., temporarily shutting down traffic there while conducting an investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office is actively working with the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Division to identify the skeletal remains.
No identification has been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
