DUNLAP, Ill. – Firefighters contained a garage fire in Dunlap Sunday morning, preventing it from spreading to a nearby home.
Crews were called to the 4800 block of Koerner Road around 11:30 a.m. While enroute, they were told smoke was visible from the garage, prompting a full box alarm.
Firefighters found smoke on the roofline and the attached garage. They had the blaze under control in just five minutes.
Occupants of the home and their pets evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
Damage was mostly confined to the garage, estimated at $30,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
