NORMAL, Ill. – It was light work for the Washington Lady Panthers basketball team in the state finals.
Washington defeated St. Viator, 55-34, Friday afternoon in the Class 3A state semifinals at CEFCU Arena in Normal.
Senior guard Avery Tibbs led all scorers with 20 points and added eight rebounds. Freshman guard Kate McDougal added 10 points and 9 rebounds.
They will play for the Class 3A title Saturday at 4:00 P.M. against Chatham Glenwood.
Washington’s win makes two Tazewell County teams playing for state championships, with the Dee-Mack girls game playing for the Class 1A title.
