PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been arrested on numerous charges that include stalking and unauthorized videotaping.
Peoria Police says officers responded on October 4th to the area of Glen Oak Avenue and Wisconsin regarding unauthorized video recording at a house, with evidence taken from the area.
An investigation revealed 41-year-old Israel Ruiz as the suspect, and he was arrested Wednesday near Lincoln and Westmoreland.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a nearby house near Howett and Westmoreland. Police say the search reportedly recovered additional surveillance cameras, multiple cellular devices, and illegal narcotics.
Ruiz was arrested for Aggravated Stalking, 3 counts Violation of an Order of Protection, 2 counts Residential Burglary, 3 counts Unauthorized Videotaping, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Harassment Through Telecommunication, and Theft.
Ruiz was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
