PEORIA, Ill. – Princeville High School is on a Million-Dollar mission.
The school is the only high school in Illinois vying for T-Mobile’s “Friday Night 5G Lights” competition…recently making the Top 25.
Principal Rich Thole tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan”, winning would give the school a $1 million stadium renovation.
“We got entered in, we won $5,000. And, then about two-and-a-half weeks ago, it was announced that we’d made it to the Top 25. So, we won $25,000,” Thole says.
They’ve already won $30,000, but Princeville Senior Sophie Noonen says winning T-Mobile’s top prize would mean so much for the school’s younger students, who would actually get to use the upgrades.
“It’s just been so much fun to be a part of, and my brother’s a freshman on the football team,” Noonen says.
WMBD’s Greg Batton told Sophie that if Princeville High wins the $1 million prize, her brother Michael (Noonen) owes her big time.
The winner of T-Mobile’s “Friday Night 5G Light’s competition will be determined by public vote. Voting is open through October 24th.
The grand prize winner will be announced October 30th. To vote, go to voteprinceville.com.
