PEORIA, Ill. – Later this week, the public is being asked to share their thoughts on finding the next superintendent for Peoria Public Schools.
PPS and search firm From The Heart International Educational Services, LLC. are hosting a town hall on Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the main gym at Peoria High School.
The school board is looking for Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat’s replacement. She’s retiring when her contract with PPS expires at the end of this school year.
“Selecting the next superintendent is one of the most important decisions for the Peoria Public Schools. This town hall gives every community member a chance to contribute directly to shaping the district’s leadership,” organizers of the event said in a release.
Community input will be included in the superintendent leadership profile and candidate selection material.
Wednesday’s town hall will include an “open mic” where the public can speak for up to two minutes. Attendees can also make comments and ask questions on “inquiry cards” that will be shared at the meeting.
