PEORIA, Ill. – The owner of an athletic training facility inside the now-closed Landmark Recreational Center believes vandalism from this past weekend was not random.
25 News reports broken windows and doors of U Fitness occurred at around 3:30 A.M. on Sunday.
Owner Ishmael Hicks believes it was a targeted attack to the building, and comes at a bad time.
“With Landmark Lanes closing, [and] everyone’s emotions are already high, to overcome that hurdle and then have the building look how it looks, with boards attached to it, it’s just not a good look,” Hicks said.
Landmark Lanes is scheduled to close for good next week.
Hicks believes a suspect has been identified by Peoria Police with the help of a security camera. He says he is not concerned about future vandalism or safety issues.
