PEORIA, Ill. – A traffic pattern change in Peoria will highlight a couple of road construction projects in the area this week.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, westbound traffic on Moss Avenue between Institute Place and Western Avenue will switch to new pavement.

Moss Avenue will continue to be open to westbound one-way traffic only.
Traffic in both directions of on Moss Avenue should use Martin Luther King Jr. Drive or Bradley Avenue from Western Avenue or University Street. Northbound traffic on MacArthur Highway should use Richard Allen Drive to Romeo B. Garrett Avenue to access westbound King Drive.
Also beginning Monday, milling and overlay work will begin on Detroit Avenue in Morton between Birchwood Street to south of Jefferson Street.
Initially, southbound traffic will be routed to the center lane for the next six weeks, weather permitting.
