NORMAL, Ill. – An East Peoria teen was identified on Thursday after being struck and killed by a train in Normal.
The McLean County Coroner says 19-year-old James Camden died from multiple blunt force injuries after being hit, according to preliminary autopsy results. Toxicology tests are still pending.
Normal Police and Fire were called around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday to the railroad tracks at N. Towanda Avenue and Kays Drive.
Coroner Kathleen Yoder says Camden was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:04 p.m.
The incident is being investigated by Normal Police, Amtrak Police, and the McLean County Coroner’s Office.
