PEORIA, Ill. – A man has been found guilty for an armed robbery and shooting two years ago at a Peoria apartment complex.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 28-year-old Drakar Munoz was found guilty Thursday of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of August 15th, 2023, at the Parkwood Commons Apartment Complex. Police responded and recovered four shell casings, but did not find a victim, later learning the victim was en route to a local hospital.
Prosecutors say video footage revealed four men meeting in a parking lot of the complex, when Munoz pulled out a gun and shot the victim twice after exchanging greetings.
Another person, Jimmy Williams, grabbed the victim’s cross-body bag.
Williams pleaded guilty to armed robbery in April of 2024 and was sentenced to eight years in prison, while Munoz will be sentenced July 23rd.
