PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Public Schools’ three high schools are holding graduation ceremonies at the Peoria Civic Center on Saturday.
PPS Superintendent Dr. Sharon Demoulin Kherat says there are several things everyone needs to keep in mind.
“Obviously there’s no balloons, no backpacks, no outside food. And, really just following the same rules that you would follow if you were attending a concert…a clear bag, a very small bag,” Kherat says.
Peoria High School starts off the day’s events at 10 a.m., Peoria Manual High is next at 1 p.m., and finally Richwoods High School graduation is at 4 p.m.
Graduates are expected to be at the Civic Center at least an hour before their ceremony begins.
“We’re asking them to enter through the Bradley Braves VIP Room. And, the doors will be open an hour before (ceremonies begin),” Kherat says.
Tickets aren’t necessary to get in, but it’s suggested that family and friends also arrive early. Doors at the Peoria Civic Center will open an hour before each ceremony.
Kherat reminds everyone that if you leave the arena, you will have to go through security to get back in.
ADA seating will be available in the arena for those that need it.
Parking downtown will be limited. Parking at the Peoria Civic Center is $10.
