EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Voters within the 16th congressional district have been asking Republican Congressman Darin Lahood to host a town hall meeting.
Saturday, a group called Citizens for IL-16 held one with or without LaHood and it turns it out, it was without him.
The event took place at the UAW Local 974 union hall in East Peoria.
25 News reports a standing room only crowd heard from various speakers angry with LsHood and Trump Administration policies.
LaHood addressed town hall meetings with 25 News earlier this month.
“We’ll have a number of telephone town halls across our district that we’ll be planning in May and June. We do those every election cycle,” he said, “I come back to my district every single weekend. Anybody that wants to meet with me, we schedule times to meet with our constituents.”
