PEORIA, Ill. – With certification set for Wednesday, the final ballots of the 2025 consolidated elections were counted on Tuesday.
Peoria County Election Commission Executive Director Elizabeth Gannon says Tuesday was the last day for mail-in ballots to be received and counted, as well as challenges. She says only six ballots were counted on Tuesday.
The final unofficial numbers before certification shows little change in two Peoria City Council races that were tight after election night.
In District Two, Alex Carmona finished with 47 more votes over Estrella Diaz in the race to replace Chuck Grayeb. In District Four, incumbent Andre Allen finished with 121 more votes than challenger Jamie Messmore.
Incumbents Denise Jackson and Denis Cyr finished with large enough leads after Election Night to declare victory, while Tim Riggenbach was unopposed.
