PEORIA Ill. – Charges have been filed in correlation to a violent interaction with Peoria Police last week.
Monday, a 16-year-old male was charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon — after he shot at Peoria Police last Thursday night.
It occurred at around 9:15pm — at the intersection of West Ann Street and South Manual Avenue, when police were called to the area on reports of someone having a gun.
Once authorities arrived on scene, the defendant shot at them before trying to flee.
He was then detained after a brief chase.
The State’s Attorneys Office has filed a petition to transfer the case to adult court.
The investigation is ongoing.
