PEORIA, Ill. – The execution of a search warrant Tuesday morning led to the arrest of a homicide from last August in Peoria.
Peoria Police say 24-year-old Rashaard Nunn was taken into custody just before 9:15 A.M. in the area of Glen and University.
Officers reportedly seized illegal drugs, drug equipment, drug packaging, and large amounts of money during a search of the residence.
An investigation also developed Nunn as a suspect in the shooting death on August 31st last year of 19-year-old Damar Watts, which was Peoria’s 19th homicide of 2023.
Nunn was arrested and is charged with First Degree Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Nunn was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
