PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – Families at Peoria’s Dream Center celebrated Christmas a little early.
The center hosted its first Christmas experience event Saturday afternoon. The event was for guests of the Dream Center’s shelter, village families, and families of the center’s after-school students.
Care Director Krista Bergthold says the event is about having families celebrate the holiday together.
“I hope that today just brings them closer as a family and that we can get to spend some time with them, and they can have long-lasting memories,” Bergthold said.
Santa and the Grinch made appearances at the event. Activities included family portraits, a hot chocolate station, stocking stuffing, and numerous games.
