LEWISTOWN, Ill. – Shoppers at a grocery store in Fulton County were likely troubled at least by what ended up being a police standoff of sorts Thursday afternoon.
The Fulton County Sheriffs Department says a man with a handgun had to be talked out of a cafe area of the County Market in Lewistown around 12:30 p.m.
The man, taken into custody, was taken to a Peoria hospital for an evaluation.
Sheriff Jon Webb calls it an isolated incident and not part of a larger threat.
