PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say they arrested someone in an area that has had a recent rash of vehicle burglaries.
Officers arrested Malachi Messenger, 18, after a brief foot chase thanks in part to the use of a K-9.
He faces two counts of Vehicle Burglary and one count of Obstructing Police, according to jail records.
Police say they went to Woodbine Terrace, near Sterling and Richwoods around 2:30 Friday morning, following reports of a suspicious person walking through private property, and after a number of burglaries days prior.
Messenger remains jailed pending court appearances.
