PEORIA, Ill. – We’re learning more about a fatal motorcycle crash in Central Peoria.
Peoria Police were called to the area of Sheridan and Lake around 6:15 Thursday night for a crash involving a car and a motorcycle that happened around 6:15.
The victim was taken to the hospital in grave condition.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says while Erik Herrera, 20, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, he suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead about five hours later.
Harwood says toxicology tests are pending. Peoria Police are also still investigating.

PPD says the accident happened around 6:15 p.m. The 20-year-old driver of the motorcycle was unresponsive, and was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
