PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police are searching for 22-year-old DeAngelo D. Coleman, a suspect in a disturbance call Tuesday afternoon that resulted in a stand off with police that lasted several hours.
Officers were sent to the 1100 block of N. Sheridan just before 1 p.m. They were told there were at least two men inside a residence with guns.
After establishing a perimeter, PPD’s Special Response Team entered the home around 2:45 p.m., finding no one inside. It was later determined the suspects fled the scene as officers arrived.
During their investigation, police identified Coleman as one of the suspects. He’s described as 5’6, 250 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.
PPD says Coleman is wanted for aggravated assault, and should be considered armed and dangerous. He should not be approached.
Anyone with information about Coleman’s whereabouts or other information about the incident is asked to contact Peoria Police at (309) 673-4521 or CrimeStoppers anonymously at (309) 673-9000.
